
PCAIT, Delhi CM discuss ICT growth & Nehru Place revamp plan
In a remarkable move towards strengthening Delhi’s ICT (Information and Communication Technology) ecosystem, a delegation from PCAIT (Progressive Channels Association of Information Technology), led by its President, Alok Gupta, met Delhi CM, Rekha Gupta, on July 3, 2025. The meeting aimed to discuss a joint roadmap for ICT growth and revamping Nehru Place, one of the city’s oldest and most prominent IT hubs.
The PCAIT delegation comprised industry stalwarts and experts in the ICT sector, including prominent IT companies, startups, and entrepreneurs. The meeting provided an opportunity for the stakeholders to share their insights and suggestions with the Delhi CM on how to boost the city’s ICT growth and transform Nehru Place into a futuristic IT destination.
During the meeting, PCAIT highlighted the need for revitalisation of Nehru Place, which has been a hub for IT and IT-enabled services for over three decades. The association emphasized the importance of declaring Nehru Place as a Zero Plastic Zone to promote a cleaner and greener environment. This initiative aims to reduce plastic waste and promote sustainable practices in the area, which is heavily populated by IT professionals and businesses.
The Delhi CM, Rekha Gupta, expressed her support for the initiative and assured PCAIT that her government is committed to promoting the growth of the ICT sector in Delhi. She highlighted the government’s efforts to establish Delhi as a leading IT hub, with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and skill development.
The CM also expressed her willingness to work closely with PCAIT to revamp Nehru Place, which is a crucial step towards achieving this goal.
