Tata Technologies and AWS Launch 3rd InnoVent Hackathon
In a bid to foster innovation and creativity among engineering students in India, Tata Technologies, a global engineering and design services company, has announced the launch of the 3rd edition of its flagship engineering innovation hackathon, InnoVent, in collaboration with Amazon Web Services, Inc. (AWS). This esteemed hackathon offers a unique opportunity for engineering students across India to develop pioneering solutions that address real-world challenges across the mobility value chain.
InnoVent 2026 is built on the success of its previous editions, which have seen a surge in participation from top engineering colleges in India. The hackathon aims to bring together the brightest minds in the country to tackle complex problems and create innovative solutions that can make a significant impact in the industry.
The theme of InnoVent 2026 is centered around the mobility value chain, which includes electric vehicles, autonomous driving, connected vehicles, and more. The hackathon challenges participants to develop solutions that can improve the efficiency, sustainability, and safety of mobility solutions. This could involve developing AI-powered predictive maintenance systems, designing smart charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, or creating advanced driver-assistance systems.
To support the innovative ideas of the participants, Tata Technologies and AWS will provide access to cutting-edge technology and expertise. Participants will have the opportunity to work with AWS’s suite of cloud-based services, including machine learning, artificial intelligence, and data analytics, to develop their solutions.
“We are thrilled to launch the 3rd edition of InnoVent, which has become a flagship event in the engineering innovation calendar,” said Warren Harris, CEO and Managing Director of Tata Technologies. “Our partnership with AWS has enabled us to provide participants with the best-in-class technology and expertise to develop innovative solutions that can make a real impact in the industry.”
The InnoVent hackathon will follow a rigorous selection process, which includes an online submission phase, followed by a live pitch competition, and finally, a demo day where the top teams will showcase their solutions to a panel of industry experts and judges.
The winning team will receive a cash prize of INR 1 lakh, while the runner-up will receive a cash prize of INR 50,000. In addition, the winning team will also get the opportunity to work with Tata Technologies and AWS to develop their solution further and potentially pilot it in real-world environments.
InnoVent 2026 is open to all engineering students from top colleges in India, and the registration process is now underway. The last date for registration is March 31, 2026, and the hackathon is schedule to take place from April 15 to 17, 2026.
Tata Technologies and AWS are committed to fostering innovation and creating a pipeline of talented engineers who can drive the future of mobility and technology. The InnoVent hackathon is an excellent platform for engineering students to showcase their skills, learn from industry experts, and develop innovative solutions that can make a real impact in the industry.
