PCAIT, Delhi CM Discuss ICT Growth & Nehru Place Revamp Plan
In a remarkable move towards strengthening Delhi’s ICT (Information and Communication Technology) ecosystem, a delegation from PCAIT (Progressive Channels Association of Information Technology), led by its President, Alok Gupta, met Delhi CM, Rekha Gupta, on July 3, 2025. The meeting aimed to explore ways to foster growth in the ICT sector and revamp Nehru Place, one of Delhi’s most iconic IT hubs.
The PCAIT delegation emphasized the importance of revitalizing Nehru Place, which has been a hub for IT and electronics for decades. However, the area has seen a decline in recent years due to poor infrastructure, inadequate parking, and lack of modern amenities. He emphasized that the sector has immense potential for creating employment opportunities, boosting the economy, and establishing Delhi as a leading IT hub. Gupta noted that the meeting with the Delhi CM was a significant step towards achieving this goal.
“We are pleased to have had this opportunity to discuss the future of Nehru Place and the ICT sector with the Delhi CM. We believe that by working together, we can create a thriving ecosystem that benefits both the IT industry and the people of Delhi,” said Alok Gupta, President of PCAIT.

The meeting between PCAIT and the Delhi CM also touched upon the need for infrastructure development in Nehru Place. The delegation highlighted the importance of improving road connectivity, increasing parking facilities, and providing modern amenities such as high-speed internet and power backup. The Delhi CM assured PCAIT that the government is working on these issues and will ensure that Nehru Place is transformed into a modern and efficient IT hub.
In addition to revamping Nehru Place, PCAIT and the Delhi CM discussed ways to promote the growth of the ICT sector in Delhi. The delegation emphasized the need for initiatives such as tax incentives, subsidies for startups, and collaborations with educational institutions to develop a skilled workforce. The CM assured PCAIT that the government is working on these initiatives and will provide support to the IT industry.
