Northeast Frontier Railway Floats ₹353 Crore EPC Tender
The Northeast Frontier Railway (NFR) has invited bids for the construction of a new single Broad Gauge (BG) railway line between Kamarpara and Hilli. The project, valued at ₹353.94 Crore, involves civil engineering works, electrification works, and signalling works. The 15.187-kilometer long line will play a crucial role in improving rail connectivity in the region, enhancing passenger and freight services.
The tender, floated by the NFR, is an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) contract, which means that the successful bidder will be responsible for designing, building, and commissioning the railway line. The contractor will have to complete the project within a specific timeframe, as specified in the tender document.
The new railway line will connect Kamarpara and Hilli, two important towns in the Dhubri district of Assam. The project aims to reduce travel time and improve the overall passenger experience by providing a faster and more reliable mode of transportation. The line will also enhance the capacity of the railway network, allowing for more trains to operate and increasing the volume of freight traffic.
The scope of work includes the construction of the railway track, bridges, culverts, and other civil engineering structures. The contractor will also have to install electrification systems, including overhead electrification, traction power supply, and distribution systems. Additionally, the successful bidder will have to install signalling systems, including interlocking, points, and signals, to ensure safe and efficient train operations.
The tender document specifies that the contractor must have a minimum experience of 10 years in executing similar projects. The bidder must also have a minimum annual turnover of ₹150 Crore for the past three years. The contractor will be evaluated based on their technical and financial capabilities, as well as their experience in executing similar projects.
The NFR has set a timeline of 30 months for the completion of the project, from the date of commencement of work. The contractor will have to ensure that the project is completed within this timeframe, and the railway line is ready for commercial operations.
The EPC tender for the Kamarpara-Hilli BG railway line is a significant development for the NFR, which is working towards improving its infrastructure and services. The project is expected to create employment opportunities and stimulate economic growth in the region.
The tender document can be downloaded from the official website of the NFR, and interested bidders can submit their proposals by the specified deadline. The NFR will evaluate the bids and shortlist the qualified contractors, who will then be invited for technical and financial negotiations.
The successful bidder will have to execute the project in accordance with the tender document, and the NFR will monitor the progress of the work to ensure that it is completed as per the agreed timeline and specifications.
The Kamarpara-Hilli BG railway line project is an important initiative by the NFR to improve rail connectivity in the region. The project will not only benefit the local population but also enhance the overall rail network in the country. With a contract value of ₹353.94 Crore, the project is a significant investment in the region’s infrastructure development.
