We’ll Try & Win IPL 2025 Final for Kohli: RCB Captain Patidar
The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) team is all set to face Punjab Kings (PBKS) in the final of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 on Tuesday. Ahead of the big match, RCB captain Rajat Patidar has expressed his determination to win the title, dedicating it to none other than the team’s former captain, Virat Kohli.
Kohli, who is widely regarded as one of the greatest batsmen in the world, had a successful stint as RCB captain, leading the team to the playoffs on multiple occasions. Although he is no longer the captain of the team, Kohli’s legacy continues to inspire the current crop of players, including Patidar.
“We will try and win this for Virat Kohli,” Patidar said in a pre-match press conference. “Kohli has done so well for India and RCB over the years. He is a legend of the game, and we want to make him proud by winning the title.”
Patidar becomes the fourth captain in RCB history to lead the team in the IPL final, following in the footsteps of Anil Kumble, Daniel Vettori, and Kohli himself. The 27-year-old Indian batsman has had a remarkable season, scoring over 500 runs at an average of 40, and will be looking to carry his form into the final.
RCB has had a rollercoaster ride in the tournament so far, with several narrow wins and losses. However, Patidar believes that his team’s experience and character will come to the fore in the final.
“We have been through a lot this season, and we have shown a lot of character,” Patidar said. “We have won games from difficult situations, and we have also lost games when we were in a good position. But I think our experience will help us in the final.”
PBKS, on the other hand, have been a revelation this season, making it to the final for the first time in their history. Led by Mayank Agarwal, the team has been impressive with their batting and bowling, and will be looking to cause an upset against the fancied RCB.
The final will be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai, and the RCB team will be looking to lift their maiden IPL title. Patidar and his team will need to be at their best to overcome the challenge posed by PBKS, but they will be buoyed by their captain’s words of inspiration.
“Kohli has set a high standard for us, and we want to follow in his footsteps,” Patidar said. “We want to make him proud by winning the title, and we will give it our best shot.”
The IPL 2025 final promises to be an exciting encounter, with both teams having their own strengths and weaknesses. RCB will be looking to ride on the momentum of their captain’s words, while PBKS will be looking to cause an upset and create history.
In the end, it will be a battle of wits and skill between two teams that have worked hard to reach the final. Whoever emerges victorious will be crowned the champions of the IPL 2025, and will take home the coveted trophy.
