Without PM Modi & CM Nitish, Bihar can’t progress: Dy CM Samrat
As the National Democratic Alliance (NDA) marks 11 years at the Centre, Bihar Deputy Chief Minister, Tejashwi Prasad Yadav’s predecessor, Sushil Kumar Modi’s deputy, Samrat Choudhary, has come out in praise of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Chief Minister Nitish Kumar, crediting them for the state’s development over the past decade. In an interview, Samrat Choudhary stressed that the progress made in Bihar would not have been possible without the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nitish.
Samrat Choudhary, who was the Deputy Chief Minister of Bihar from 2015 to 2020, pointed out that the state has received a significant amount of investment during the NDA regime. “PM has contributed around ₹15 lakh crore to Bihar,” he said, emphasizing that this massive investment has been instrumental in transforming the state’s economy.
The Deputy Chief Minister also took a jibe at the Opposition parties, particularly the Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) and the Congress, which have been critical of the NDA government’s policies. “Without PM Modi and CM Nitish, Bihar can’t progress,” Samrat Choudhary asserted, adding that these political opportunists are waiting to grab power again. “I challenge the leaders of the Opposition to say that development hasn’t taken place in Bihar,” he said, emphasizing that the state has made remarkable progress in various sectors.
Samrat Choudhary’s remarks come at a time when the NDA government is facing criticism from the Opposition parties over issues such as job creation, economic slowdown, and inflation. The Opposition parties have been demanding accountability from the government, but Samrat Choudhary’s comments suggest that the NDA government’s development agenda has been successful in Bihar, at least.
The Deputy Chief Minister’s statements have also been seen as a bid to counter the growing criticism of the NDA government from the Opposition parties. Samrat Choudhary’s praise for PM Modi and CM Nitish comes at a time when the NDA government is facing internal as well as external challenges. The government is under pressure to address the issues of unemployment, economic slowdown, and inflation, which have been affecting the lives of ordinary citizens.
It is worth noting that Samrat Choudhary’s comments have also been seen as an attempt to strengthen the NDA’s position in the state ahead of the next assembly elections. The NDA government is keen to consolidate its position in the state and Samrat Choudhary’s statements are part of that strategy.
In recent months, there have been signs of a rift between the JD(U) and the BJP, which have been coalition partners in Bihar. While the JD(U) has been critical of the BJP’s policies, the BJP has been trying to strengthen its position in the state. Samrat Choudhary’s comments are seen as an attempt to bridge the gap between the two parties and to strengthen the NDA’s position in the state.
In conclusion, Samrat Choudhary’s remarks highlight the significance of PM Modi and CM Nitish’s leadership in Bihar’s development story. The Deputy Chief Minister’s statements have also been seen as an attempt to counter the criticism of the NDA government from the Opposition parties. While the NDA government still faces challenges, Samrat Choudhary’s comments suggest that the state has made remarkable progress under the leadership of PM Modi and CM Nitish.
