Several parties organise solidarity march for Palestine in Ranchi
In a bold display of solidarity with the Palestinian people, several left-wing parties in Ranchi, Jharkhand, came together to observe June 17 as the National Day of Solidarity with Palestine. The parties, including CPI, CPI(M), CPI-ML, AIFB, RSP, and SUCI(C), organised a peace march from Ranchi’s Sainik Bazaar to Albert Ekka Chowk, demanding an immediate end to the violence and human rights abuses perpetrated by Israeli soldiers against the Palestinian people.
The march, which was attended by hundreds of people from various walks of life, was a powerful expression of the people’s outrage and condemnation of the Israeli government’s brutal treatment of the Palestinians. The participants, carrying placards and banners, chanted slogans and shouted anti-Israeli slogans as they marched through the streets of Ranchi.
Ajay Singh, a leader of the CPI, addressed the gathering at Albert Ekka Chowk, saying, “People of Palestine want peace. The attack on women and children by Israeli soldiers continues. It must stop immediately.” He also highlighted the need for international pressure on the Israeli government to end its occupation of Palestinian territories and ensure the rights of the Palestinian people.
The march was a significant event in Ranchi, as it brought together people from different political parties and social backgrounds under a common cause. It sent a strong message to the government and the international community that the people of Ranchi and Jharkhand stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people and demand an end to the violence and human rights abuses.
The Israeli-Palestinian conflict has been a longstanding issue, with both sides accusing each other of human rights abuses and violence. The situation has been particularly dire in recent years, with the Israeli government’s military occupation of Palestinian territories and its treatment of Palestinians being widely condemned by human rights organisations and governments around the world.
The people of Jharkhand, who have their own struggles with poverty, inequality, and social injustice, empathise with the struggles of the Palestinian people. They understand the pain and suffering that comes with living under occupation and the struggle for self-determination. The solidarity march was a powerful expression of this empathy and a call to action for the government and international community to take concrete steps to end the Israeli occupation and ensure the rights of the Palestinian people.
The CPI, CPI(M), CPI-ML, AIFB, RSP, and SUCI(C) parties have been at the forefront of the solidarity movement for Palestine in Jharkhand. They have been organising rallies, protests, and other events to raise awareness about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict and to demand an end to the violence and human rights abuses.
The solidarity march in Ranchi was also part of a larger national campaign, with similar events being held in other parts of the country. The CPI-ML, for example, had organised a solidarity march in Patna, the capital of Bihar, while the CPI(M) had organised a similar event in Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal.
The success of the solidarity march in Ranchi is a testament to the growing awareness and concern about the Israeli-Palestinian conflict in Jharkhand and India. It is a reflection of the people’s outrage and condemnation of the Israeli government’s treatment of the Palestinians and their desire to stand in solidarity with the Palestinian people.
As the international community continues to grapple with the Israeli-Palestinian conflict, the people of Jharkhand and India will remain steadfast in their support for the Palestinian people. They will continue to demand an end to the violence and human rights abuses and will work towards a peaceful and just solution to the conflict.
