J&K BJP Leader Raina Shares Video with Soldiers in Snow, Opp’n Criticises Him
In a bid to showcase his camaraderie with the security personnel, Jammu and Kashmir BJP leader Ravinder Raina posted a video on social media, showing him running through the snow with the soldiers days after the Pahalgam terror attack. However, the opposition leaders did not take kindly to his move, accusing him of misusing the security forces.

Shiv Sena-UBT’s Priyanka Chaturvedi reacted sharply to Raina’s video, saying, “Security forces can protect borders later, but saving BJP leaders is very important.”
Chaturvedi’s comments were echoed by other opposition leaders, who also criticized Raina for his move. The PDP’s Moulvi Iftikhar Hussain Ansari said, “It’s unfortunate that the BJP leader is using the security forces for his personal publicity stunt. The real issue is the security situation in the valley and the BJP is not doing enough to address it.”
The Congress also jumped into the fray, with its spokesperson, Randeep Surjewala, saying, “The BJP is more concerned about its leaders’ personal security than the security of the people of Jammu and Kashmir. This is a clear indication of their priorities.”
The criticism from the opposition leaders did not go down well with the BJP, which hit back at them saying that they were trying to politicize the situation. The BJP’s state spokesperson, Khalid Jahangir, said, “The opposition leaders are trying to create a divide between the people and the security forces. Our leader was simply interacting with the soldiers and expressing his gratitude for their service.”
