In a rare display of unity, the Centre, State, and Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) have come together with a common goal, according to Delhi Chief Minister Rekha Gupta. The Chief Minister also criticized previous governments, stating that they were more focused on fighting each other than working towards the betterment of the city. “Previous governments only focused on fighting…with the Lieutenant Governor, the PM, the administration, courts [and] police,” she said.

The AAP government, which has been in power since 2015, has been at odds with the Centre over various issues, including the appointment of the Lieutenant Governor and the implementation of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
