Udupi Police Nab Serial Burglar Abu Bakar for Shirva Theft
In a significant breakthrough, Udupi police have apprehended notorious serial burglar Abu Bakar, also known as Abdul Khader and Itte Barpe Abubakkar, in connection with a house theft in Shirva village. The crime took place at the residence of Pavithra Poojarthi near Mattaru Road, while she and her son were asleep.
According to the police, the theft occurred on the night of October 15, when the burglar broke into Pavithra’s house and stole valuable items worth lakhs of rupees. The police were alerted and launched an investigation, which led them to Abu Bakar, a well-known serial burglar with a long list of previous offenses.
Abu Bakar, a resident of Udupi town, has been involved in several high-profile burglaries in the region. He has been evading the law for a long time, but his reign of terror finally came to an end with his arrest.
The police investigation revealed that Abu Bakar had been monitoring Pavithra’s house for several days before the theft. He had been casing the property, looking for the perfect moment to strike. On the night of the theft, he broke into the house through an open window and stole valuable items, including gold jewelry, cash, and other valuables.
The police were able to crack the case with the help of forensic evidence and eyewitness accounts. The forensic team collected fingerprints and other evidence from the crime scene, which were later matched with Abu Bakar’s fingerprints. Additionally, a witness came forward and identified Abu Bakar as the person who had been seen lurking around Pavithra’s house on the night of the theft.
Udupi Police Commissioner, Mr. Rishikesha Gowda, commended the police team for their hard work and dedication in solving the case. “The police team worked tirelessly to gather evidence and track down the culprit. Their efforts have paid off, and Abu Bakar is now behind bars,” he said.
Abu Bakar has been booked under the Indian Penal Code (IPC) sections 457 (house-trespass) and 380 (theft). He is currently being held at the Udupi police station and will be produced in court soon.
The police have also recovered several stolen items from Abu Bakar’s possession, which were stolen during previous burglaries. The recovered items include gold jewelry, cash, and other valuables.
The arrest of Abu Bakar has sent a strong message to would-be burglars in the region. The police have vowed to continue their efforts to prevent and detect crime, and to bring perpetrators to justice.
In recent years, Udupi has seen a surge in house break-ins and thefts. The police have been working hard to prevent and detect these crimes, and the arrest of Abu Bakar is a significant milestone in their efforts.
The police are urging the public to remain vigilant and to report any suspicious activity to the authorities immediately. They are also asking anyone with information about Abu Bakar’s activities to come forward and assist in the investigation.
