Sonam Made Up Story of Being Kidnapped & Drugged: Meghalaya Police
The investigation into the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, a 32-year-old Indore-based businessman, has taken a dramatic turn with the East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Syiem rejecting the claims made by Sonam, the prime accused in the case. According to Syiem, Sonam fabricated a story about being kidnapped and drugged to divert attention from her alleged involvement in the crime.
Sonam, who was on a honeymoon trip with her husband Raja Raghuvanshi in Meghalaya, had claimed that she was kidnapped and drugged by unknown assailants, leading to the murder of her husband. However, the police investigation has revealed that her claims were baseless, and she was aware that her boyfriend Raj Kushwaha was being investigated and would soon be arrested.
The police investigation has uncovered that Sonam was having an affair with Raj Kushwaha, and she was desperate to cover her tracks. Syiem revealed that Sonam’s statement was full of contradictions and inconsistencies, which led the police to suspect that she was involved in the crime.
“We have evidence that Sonam was having an affair with Raj Kushwaha, and she knew that he was being investigated and would soon be arrested. So, she came up with the story that she was kidnapped and drugged to divert attention from her involvement in the crime,” Syiem said.
The police investigation has revealed that Sonam and Kushwaha had a romantic relationship, and they had been meeting secretly. Sonam’s husband Raja Raghuvanshi was unaware of her affair, and she had been lying to him about her whereabouts.
The police have recovered several messages and call records that point to Sonam’s involvement with Kushwaha. They have also found evidence of Sonam’s movements on the day of the murder, which suggests that she was not kidnapped or drugged as she claimed.
Syiem further revealed that Sonam’s alibi for the time of the murder was also found to be false. “We have found that Sonam was not at the location she claimed to be at the time of the murder. Our investigation has revealed that she was actually with Raj Kushwaha,” he said.
The police have arrested Sonam and are investigating her role in the murder. Kushwaha is still absconding and is being searched for by the police.
The case has sent shockwaves across the country, with many questioning how Sonam could have come up with such a elaborate lie to cover her tracks. The police investigation has shown that Sonam’s claims were baseless and were an attempt to mislead the investigation.
The case also raises questions about the effectiveness of the police investigation and the methods used to gather evidence. The police have faced criticism for not being able to detect the truth earlier and for relying too heavily on Sonam’s false claims.
The investigation into the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi is ongoing, and the police are working to gather more evidence and build a strong case against Sonam and Kushwaha. The case is a reminder of the importance of thorough and meticulous police investigation to uncover the truth and bring perpetrators to justice.
