Sonam Made Up Story of Being Kidnapped & Drugged: Meghalaya Police
The investigation into the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi, an Indore-based businessman, has taken a new turn with the police rejecting claims made by Sonam, the prime accused in the case. According to the East Khasi Hills Superintendent of Police (SP) Vivek Syiem, Sonam fabricated a story about being kidnapped and drugged to deflect attention from her alleged involvement in the murder.
Raja Raghuvanshi was found dead on a honeymoon trip to Meghalaya’s Shillong with his wife Sonam. The couple had gotten married just a few days prior to the trip. Sonam was arrested later, and during the investigation, she claimed that she had been kidnapped and drugged by unknown assailants. However, the police have now revealed that they do not believe her story.
“Sonam knew that Raj Kushwaha, the other accused in the case, was being investigated and would be arrested, so she came up with the story that she was kidnapped and drugged,” SP Syiem said. Raj Kushwaha is reportedly Sonam’s lover and was having an affair with her.
The police investigation had initially been focused on the kidnapping and murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. However, as the investigation progressed, suspicion fell on Sonam and Raj Kushwaha. The police found that Sonam had been in contact with Kushwaha before and during the trip, and that they had a history of infidelity.
The police believe that Sonam and Kushwaha had planned the murder together. According to the investigation, Sonam had been planning to leave Raja Raghuvanshi and was looking for an opportunity to do so. Kushwaha, who was also involved in the murder, had been helping Sonam in her plans.
The police also found that Sonam had been in possession of a handgun, which was used to kill Raja Raghuvanshi. The police believe that Sonam had planned the murder in advance and had taken the necessary steps to ensure that it was carried out successfully.
The rejection of Sonam’s story by the police has significant implications for the case. It suggests that Sonam was not a victim of kidnapping and drugging, but rather a perpetrator who was involved in the murder of her husband.
The police have now charged Sonam and Raj Kushwaha with the murder of Raja Raghuvanshi. The investigation is ongoing, and the police are working to gather more evidence and build a strong case against the accused.
The case highlights the importance of thorough investigation and careful consideration of evidence. It also underscores the need for police to be vigilant and not fall for false narratives. In this case, the police did not believe Sonam’s story from the beginning and continued to investigate her and her alleged accomplices.
The case also raises questions about the motives behind Sonam’s actions. Why did she plan and execute the murder of her husband? Was it out of love for Raj Kushwaha, or was it a desire to be free from her marriage and start a new life?
The answers to these questions will only be known once the investigation is complete and the case is presented in court. For now, the police are working to gather more evidence and build a strong case against the accused.
