The Patiala district has witnessed a remarkable initiative by the Punjab government, aimed at empowering young minds and fostering a sense of responsibility among future leaders. As part of the ‘One Day with DC and SSP Sang’ program, launched under the leadership of Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, three top-scoring students from government schools in Patiala district recently had the opportunity to spend a day with Deputy Commissioner Dr Preeti Yadav.
The initiative, a first-of-its-kind in the region, aimed to provide these young minds with a unique learning experience, exposing them to the inner workings of the administration and the challenges faced by those in power. The three students, all of whom secured top scores in their Class X results, were handpicked from government schools in Patiala district and were given a chance to shadow the Deputy Commissioner for a day.
The day began with a warm welcome by Dr Preeti Yadav, who expressed her enthusiasm to share her experiences and insights with the young students. After a lunch break, the students visited the Patiala district courts, where they were given a tour of the facilities and learned about the judicial system. They were introduced to the judges and learned about the importance of justice and equality in society. The students were also briefed on the various cases being heard in the courts and the procedures followed during trials.
