DYFI Protests Over Deteriorating Roads at Baikampady Cross, K’taka
The Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) staged a protest near Baikampady Cross, Mangaluru, Karnataka, demanding urgent repair of the severely damaged roads in the Baikampady Industrial Area, including the main link road connecting to the highway. The protest was held to highlight the miserable condition of the roads, which have been neglected by the elected representatives for a long time.
The protest was led by DYFI District President B.K. Imtiaz, who criticized the elected representatives for their inaction in addressing the basic infrastructure needs of the people. Imtiaz stated that the condition of the roads has been deteriorating for years, causing inconvenience to the residents, workers, and commuters who use the road daily.
“The condition of the roads in Baikampady Industrial Area is deplorable. The main link road connecting to the highway is in a state of disrepair, and it’s a wonder that it hasn’t collapsed yet. The elected representatives have failed to take any concrete steps to repair the roads, and we are forced to stage protests to bring this issue to their attention,” Imtiaz said.
The protest was attended by a large number of DYFI members, who carried placards and banners with slogans demanding the repair of the roads. The protesters also blocked the road for some time, causing a temporary disruption in traffic.
Imtiaz also accused the government of neglecting the infrastructure needs of the industrial area, which is home to several small and medium-scale industries. He said that the poor condition of the roads is affecting the productivity and efficiency of the industries, and it’s also posing a threat to the safety of the workers.
“The government has been neglecting the infrastructure needs of the industrial area for a long time. The condition of the roads, power supply, and water supply are all subpar. The elected representatives are more interested in serving their own interests than the interests of the people. We demand that the government takes immediate action to repair the roads and provide basic infrastructure facilities to the people,” Imtiaz said.
The protest was part of a statewide campaign launched by the DYFI to highlight the poor condition of roads and demand their repair. The organization has been staging protests and demonstrations in various parts of the state, including Mangaluru, to bring attention to this issue.
In recent years, the condition of roads in Karnataka has been deteriorating rapidly, causing inconvenience to the people. The government has been unable to provide adequate funds for the maintenance and repair of the roads, leading to the deplorable condition of the infrastructure.
The DYFI protest is a wake-up call for the government to take immediate action to repair the roads and provide basic infrastructure facilities to the people. The organization has been demanding that the government takes concrete steps to improve the condition of the roads, and it’s time for the government to listen to the demands of the people.
In conclusion, the DYFI protest over the deteriorating roads at Baikampady Cross, K’taka, is a clear indication of the neglect of basic infrastructure needs by the elected representatives. The government must take immediate action to repair the roads and provide basic infrastructure facilities to the people. The people of Karnataka deserve better, and it’s time for the government to deliver.
