BJP MLA Criticises Sanjay Raut for ‘Terrorists Joined BJP’ Remark
In a recent remark that has sparked outrage and condemnation, Shiv Sena’s spokesperson Sanjay Raut sparked a controversy by stating that the Pahalgam terrorists, who have been evading capture, have probably joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP). This statement has been met with severe criticism from various quarters, including the BJP itself.
BJP MLA Ram Kadam, a prominent leader from Maharashtra, has come out strongly against Raut’s remark, calling it “ridiculous” and “an insult to our armed forces”. Kadam, known for his fiery rhetoric, demanded an apology from Raut for making such a statement.
“It is an insult to our armed forces, who are working day and night to catch these terrorists,” Kadam said, adding that Raut’s statement was an attempt to divert attention from the real issues. “The Pahalgam terrorists are a serious threat to national security, and we cannot take their capture lightly. We need to take a strong stance against terrorism, not make frivolous remarks like Raut has done.”
Kadam’s criticism was echoed by other BJP leaders, who condemned Raut’s statement as an attempt to tarnish the image of the BJP. Shiv Sena’s Sanjay Nirupam, however, responded to Kadam’s criticism, saying that Shiv Sena (UBT) leaders were making such statements out of frustration.
“It is clear that Raut’s statement was an attempt to provoke a reaction, and it has worked,” Nirupam said. “We are not surprised by Kadam’s outburst, as it is a classic tactic of the BJP to deflect attention from their own failures.”
Raut’s statement, made during a TV debate, sparked widespread outrage on social media, with many calling it an attempt to trivialize the issue of terrorism. The BJP, meanwhile, has demanded an apology from Raut and has threatened to take legal action if he fails to do so.
This is not the first time that Raut has made a controversial statement. In the past, he has been involved in several controversies, including a remark he made about the Eknath Shinde-led faction of the Shiv Sena (UBT), which he called a “group of corrupt people”.
The Pahalgam terrorists, who have been evading capture for several months, are a serious threat to national security. Their capture is a priority for the security agencies, and any attempt to downplay or trivialize the issue is unacceptable.
Raut’s statement has also sparked a debate about the role of political leaders in making irresponsible comments. While some have defended Raut’s statement as a joke, others have criticized it for being insensitive and irresponsible.
As the controversy continues to brew, it remains to be seen how Raut and the Shiv Sena (UBT) will respond to the criticism. Will they apologize for Raut’s statement, or will they continue to defend it? Only time will tell.
