Kerala Gold Trader Kidnapped in Mangaluru, Robbed of 350g Gold
In a shocking incident that has left the authorities and locals alike reeling, a Kerala-based gold trader was kidnapped in Mangaluru and robbed of 350 grams of gold worth approximately ₹35 lakh. The victim, Srihari, a jewellery shop owner from Kerala, was on his way to deliver the gold to a customer when he was abducted from the Mangaluru Central Railway Station.
According to reports, Srihari arrived at the Mangaluru Central Railway Station around 7 am on Wednesday, carrying the gold bar. Unbeknownst to him, a group of miscreants was waiting for an opportunity to strike. As Srihari stepped out of the station, he was suddenly grabbed by the kidnappers and bundled into a vehicle.
The kidnappers then drove Srihari to an unknown location, where they demanded that he hand over the gold. Faced with no option but to comply, Srihari was forced to surrender the 350-gram gold bar, worth a staggering ₹35 lakh.
The shocking incident came to light when Srihari managed to escape from the clutches of the kidnappers and made his way to the Pandeshwar police station to file a complaint. The police have since launched an investigation into the matter, with a team of detectives working tirelessly to track down the perpetrators and recover the stolen gold.
The police have also reviewed the CCTV footage from the railway station, which shows Srihari arriving at the station and being approached by a group of men. However, the footage does not capture the actual abduction, leaving the investigators with a challenging task of reconstructing the events.
Srihari, who owns a jewellery shop in Kerala, was in Mangaluru to deliver the gold to a customer. He had arrived at the station early in the morning, unaware of the danger that lay ahead. The kidnappers, who are yet to be identified, must have been lying in wait for an unsuspecting victim to strike.
The incident has sent shockwaves across the city, with locals expressing their concern and outrage over the brazen nature of the crime. The police have appealed to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has any information about the kidnappers to come forward and assist in the investigation.
As the investigation continues, the police are working to identify the kidnappers and recover the stolen gold. Srihari, meanwhile, is shaken but grateful to have escaped with his life. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the increasing instances of crime in the country and the need for greater vigilance and cooperation between the authorities and the public.
