Alguersuari’s comments come on the heels of Christian Horner’s departure from Red Bull. Horner, the team principal, stepped down from his role earlier this month, leaving many to wonder about the future of the team. Alguersuari believes that Horner’s departure is just the beginning of the end for Red Bull.
“I think it’s the end of an era, to be honest,” Alguersuari said in an interview. “It’s been a long journey for Christian and his team. Now it looks like the whole team is falling apart.”
When asked specifically about Verstappen’s future at the team, Alguersuari was unequivocal. “I’m completely sure he will leave Red Bull,” he said. “It’s just a matter of when, not if.”
But why does Alguersuari believe that Verstappen will leave? The former driver points to the fact that Red Bull’s dominance on the track has waned in recent years, and the team has struggled to match the pace of their rivals.
“Red Bull has been losing its way for a while now,” Alguersuari said. “They’ve had some great results, but overall, they’re not the team they used to be. And when you’re not winning, it’s hard to keep your top drivers happy.”

“Ferrari would love to have Max on their team,” Alguersuari said. “He’s got the speed, the talent, and the charisma. He would be a great addition to their lineup.”
Of course, Verstappen has yet to make any official announcements about his future, and only time will tell if Alguersuari’s prediction comes true. But for now, the former driver is convinced that the Dutch driver will be leaving Red Bull in the near future.
