Badal Seeks Case Against Kejriwal for Defending Sacrilege Accused
SAD president Sukhbir Singh Badal has demanded that a case be registered against AAP convener Arvind Kejriwal for attempting to procure a clean chit for party legislator Naresh Yadav, who was convicted of committing sacrilege against the holy Quran Sharif. Badal criticized Kejriwal for renominating Yadav as the party’s candidate from Mehrauli in the last Delhi Assembly elections, despite the MLA’s conviction in the case.
Speaking to the press, Badal said that Kejriwal’s decision to defend Yadav was a clear indication of the AAP’s double standards. “The AAP claims to be a party that fights for justice and equality, but when it comes to one of its own, it conveniently turns a blind eye to the law,” Badal said.
Badal also accused Kejriwal of being selective in his condemnation of those who commit sacrilege. “The AAP is quick to condemn the sacrilege committed by others, but when it comes to one of its own, it remains silent,” he said.
The SAD president also demanded that the Delhi Police register a case against Kejriwal for attempting to procure a clean chit for Yadav. “Kejriwal’s actions are not only unjust, but also illegal. He has compromised the law and order situation in Delhi by defending a person who has been convicted of a grave crime,” Badal said.
Badal’s demand comes in the wake of Kejriwal’s statement on Monday, where he defended Yadav’s nomination as the party’s candidate from Mehrauli. “Naresh Yadav is an innocent man who has been falsely accused of committing sacrilege. The Delhi Police has not been able to provide any evidence against him, and therefore, he should be given the benefit of doubt,” Kejriwal said.
However, Badal rejected Kejriwal’s statement and said that Yadav’s conviction in the case speaks for itself. “The Delhi High Court has convicted Yadav of committing sacrilege, and therefore, he should not be given any benefit of doubt,” Badal said.
Badal also accused Kejriwal of being influenced by Yadav’s family, who are close associates of the AAP leader. “Kejriwal is not acting independently, but is being influenced by Yadav’s family, who are close associates of his,” Badal said.
The SAD president also demanded that the Delhi Police investigate Kejriwal’s role in the case and take appropriate action against him. “Kejriwal’s actions are not only illegal, but also unethical. He has compromised the law and order situation in Delhi, and therefore, he should be investigated and punished accordingly,” Badal said.
In conclusion, Badal’s demand for a case to be registered against Kejriwal is a clear indication of the SAD’s strong opposition to the AAP’s double standards. The SAD president has rightly pointed out that Kejriwal’s decision to defend Yadav is a clear indication of the AAP’s commitment to nepotism and cronyism.
