A shocking incident of stone-pelting was reported on a train in Punjab, leaving passengers shaken and worried. The incident occurred on the Jan Shatabdi Express train near Rupnagar in Punjab, where a window pane was shattered after some people pelted stones at the train.
The matter came to light after a passenger posted on X (a popular social media platform) about the incident with pictures. According to the passenger, he was sitting on the seat next to the window pane, but changed his seat minutes before the incident. This lucky escape could have had disastrous consequences if he had not shifted his seat.
The passenger, who wished to remain anonymous, shared a series of pictures on X, which showed the broken window pane on the train. The images gave a glimpse of the chaos and panic that ensued on the train after the incident. The pictures also showed the shattered glass pieces on the floor and the broken window frame.
According to the passenger, the incident occurred when the train was approaching Rupnagar station. He claimed that he was sitting next to the window pane, enjoying the view, but decided to shift to another seat a few minutes later. When he returned to his original seat, he saw that the window pane was shattered and the glass was all over the floor.
“I was sitting next to the window, but I got up to get some water. When I returned, I saw that the window was broken. I was shocked and scared. I didn’t know what had happened,” the passenger said in his post on X.
The passenger also claimed that the train staff and the railway police were informed about the incident, but no action was taken to catch the perpetrators. He also expressed concern over the safety of passengers on the train, saying that such incidents could have serious consequences.
“It’s shocking that such incidents can happen on a train. What if someone had been sitting at that window seat? It could have been a tragedy. The railway authorities should take immediate action to ensure the safety of passengers,” the passenger said.
The incident has raised concerns about the safety of passengers on trains in Punjab and elsewhere in the country. The railway authorities have been criticized for their lack of action in addressing the issue of stone-pelting on trains.
The Jan Shatabdi Express train is a popular train that connects Delhi to Kathua in Jammu and Kashmir, passing through several states, including Punjab. The train is known for its scenic route and comfortable travel experience.
The incident is a wake-up call for the railway authorities to take immediate action to ensure the safety of passengers on trains. The authorities should investigate the incident and take necessary measures to prevent such incidents in the future.
