I’d Love to See Verstappen & Russell Team Up at Mercedes: Button
In an exciting revelation, former Formula One (F1) champion Jenson Button has expressed his desire to see Red Bull Racing driver Max Verstappen join forces with George Russell at Mercedes. The idea might seem intriguing, considering the current success of Verstappen with Red Bull, but Button believes that the change could bring about fresh dynamics and opportunities for both drivers.
Speaking to the media, Button emphasized that he would love to see Verstappen and Russell team up at Mercedes, citing the potential for a thrilling partnership. “I think it would be fantastic to see them together,” Button said. “Max is doing a great job with Red Bull, and George is doing a great job with Williams, but I think it would be a fantastic combination.”
Button’s suggestion is not entirely far-fetched, given the current state of the F1 grid. Both Verstappen and Russell have been making waves in their respective teams, with Verstappen’s impressive performances for Red Bull and Russell’s consistent results for Williams. “It’s a different thing altogether if Verstappen goes to Mercedes,” Button pointed out. “The car isn’t going to be designed around him, so he would have to adapt to a new car, a new team, and a new environment. That would be a challenge for him, but I think he’s capable of doing it.”
