In a remarkable move towards strengthening Delhi’s ICT (Information and Communication Technology) ecosystem, a delegation from PCAIT (Progressive Channels Association of Information Technology), led by its President, Alok Gupta, met Delhi CM, Rekha Gupta, on July 3, 2025. The meeting aimed to discuss a joint roadmap for the growth of ICT in the national capital and revamp the iconic Nehru Place, a hub for IT and electronics businesses.
The PCAIT delegation comprised prominent industry leaders and experts who represented the association’s 500+ members, including top-tier IT companies, startups, and entrepreneurs. The meeting with the Delhi CM was a significant step forward in fostering a collaborative environment between the government and the private sector to drive innovation and growth in the ICT sector.
During the meeting, PCAIT highlighted the need for revitalisation of Nehru Place, which has been a hub for IT and electronics businesses for decades. The association requested the Delhi government to declare Nehru Place as a Zero Plastic Zone, aiming to create a cleaner and more sustainable environment for businesses and visitors. “We are committed to working closely with the Delhi government to revamp Nehru Place and create a world-class IT and electronics business hub,” said Alok Gupta, President of PCAIT. “Our association has been actively engaged with the government to identify areas of improvement and propose solutions. We believe that this collaboration will not only benefit the industry but also contribute to the overall growth and development of Delhi.”
The Delhi CM, Rekha Gupta, appreciated the PCAIT delegation’s efforts and commitment to the growth of the ICT sector. She assured the delegation that the Delhi government is willing to work closely with the association to address the concerns and challenges faced by the industry.

The meeting also discussed the development of a comprehensive plan to revamp Nehru Place, which would include upgrading the infrastructure, improving public amenities, and enhancing the overall business environment. PCAIT proposed the creation of a Nehru Place Development Authority, which would be responsible for overseeing the redevelopment process and ensuring that the project is completed within a specified timeframe.
In addition to discussing the revamp plan, the PCAIT delegation also highlighted the need for a more collaborative approach between the government and the industry to drive innovation and growth in the ICT sector.
