
PCAIT, Delhi CM discuss ICT growth & Nehru Place revamp plan
In a remarkable move towards strengthening Delhi’s ICT (Information and Communication Technology) ecosystem, a delegation from PCAIT (Progressive Channels Association of Information Technology), led by its President, Alok Gupta, met Delhi CM, Rekha Gupta, on July 3, 2025. The meeting aimed to discuss a joint roadmap for the growth of ICT in the national capital and revamp plans for Nehru Place, a prominent IT hub in Delhi.
The PCAIT delegation comprised of prominent members from the IT industry, including Mr. Kumar, Mr. Jain, and Mr. Chaudhary, who apprised the Delhi CM of the current challenges faced by the IT sector in Delhi. They emphasized the need for a supportive policy framework, infrastructure development, and a conducive business environment to drive the growth of ICT in the city.
Rekha Gupta, Delhi CM, appreciated the efforts of PCAIT in promoting the IT sector in Delhi and acknowledged the importance of Nehru Place as a hub for the IT industry. She assured the delegation that the Delhi government is committed to supporting the growth of ICT in the city and revamping Nehru Place to make it more attractive to investors and businesses.
The meeting highlighted the need for revitalization of Nehru Place, which has been facing various challenges, including traffic congestion, lack of parking facilities, and poor infrastructure. PCAIT requested the Delhi government to declare Nehru Place as a Zero Plastic Zone, which would help in maintaining a clean and green environment in the area.
PCAIT also emphasized the importance of promoting start-ups and entrepreneurship in the IT sector, and requested the Delhi government to provide support to start-ups through incentives, funding, and mentorship programs.
The Delhi CM assured the delegation that the government is working on a comprehensive plan to revamp Nehru Place, which would include the development of infrastructure, providing necessary facilities to the IT industry, and promoting the area as a hub for IT and ITES businesses.
The meeting also discussed the need for promoting skill development and training programs for the IT professionals in Delhi. PCAIT requested the Delhi government to provide financial support to the IT professionals for attending training programs and conferences, which would help in upskilling and reskilling them.
Rekha Gupta, Delhi CM, appreciated the suggestions made by PCAIT and assured the delegation that the government would consider them while framing policies for the IT sector. She also requested PCAIT to work closely with the government to implement the plans and programs for the growth of ICT in Delhi.
The meeting between PCAIT and the Delhi CM was a significant step towards strengthening the ICT ecosystem in Delhi and revamping Nehru Place. It reflects the commitment of the Delhi government to support the growth of the IT sector and promote Delhi as a hub for IT and ITES businesses.
