Farhan & Sivakarthikeyan were leads in ‘Sitaare…’ first: Aamir
In a shocking revelation, Bollywood superstar Aamir Khan recently shared that Farhan Akhtar was initially locked as the main lead for the Hindi version of his iconic film ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. The film, which tells the story of a young boy’s journey to become a painter, has been a beloved classic since its release in 2005. However, Aamir didn’t get to act in the film, and Farhan was replaced by him. But that’s not all – Sivakarthikeyan was also initially chosen to play the lead in the Tamil version of the film!
This stunning revelation was shared by Aamir Khan himself in a recent interview, where he spoke about the making of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. According to Aamir, Farhan Akhtar was his first choice for the Hindi version of the film, and the two actors had even begun working on the project together. However, things took a turn when Aamir decided to act in the film himself after all.
“I was supposed to do ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ after ‘Lagaan’. But ‘Lal Singh Chaddha’ didn’t work out, and I didn’t do ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’. Farhan was already on board, and I was supposed to produce the film. But then I thought, ‘Why not do it myself?’ So, I went back to the script, and… well, the rest is history,” Aamir Khan revealed.
What’s equally interesting is that Sivakarthikeyan was also initially chosen to play the lead in the Tamil version of the film. Although it’s unclear why he didn’t end up making the film, Aamir Khan praised the actor’s professionalism and understanding.
“Farhan and Sivakarthikeyan were very supportive. When I spoke to them, they were very understanding. They knew that I had changed my mind, and they were okay with it,” Aamir Khan said.
So, what led Aamir Khan to change his mind about acting in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’? According to the actor, it was the script itself that convinced him to take on the role.
“I read the script again, and I realized that this was a story that I wanted to tell. It’s a story about a young boy’s passion for painting, and how he overcomes the challenges he faces. I felt that I could bring something special to the role, and so I decided to do it myself,” Aamir Khan revealed.
It’s clear that Aamir Khan is a perfectionist, and his commitment to his craft is unwavering. His decision to take on the lead role in ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ ultimately paid off, as the film went on to receive critical acclaim and become a beloved classic.
Farhan Akhtar, who was initially locked as the lead in the Hindi version of the film, also expressed his gratitude towards Aamir Khan for giving him the opportunity to work on the project.
“I’m grateful to Aamir for considering me for the role. Even though it didn’t work out, I’m happy that he decided to do the film himself,” Farhan Akhtar said.
Sivakarthikeyan, who was initially chosen to play the lead in the Tamil version of the film, also expressed his appreciation towards Aamir Khan for giving him the opportunity to work on the project.
“I’m grateful to Aamir for considering me for the role. Although I didn’t get to make the film, I’m happy that he decided to do it himself,” Sivakarthikeyan said.
In conclusion, Aamir Khan’s revelation about Farhan Akhtar and Sivakarthikeyan being his first choices for the Hindi and Tamil versions of ‘Sitaare Zameen Par’ is a fascinating twist in the film’s history. It’s clear that Aamir Khan is a perfectionist who is willing to take risks to tell the stories that he believes in. And it’s also clear that Farhan Akhtar and Sivakarthikeyan are professional actors who are willing to adapt to changing circumstances.
